MRS. STABEN DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Mrs. Elizabeth Staben, 65, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack. She had been making her home for some time with Mr. and Mrs. Duane Harris, Hollostone Addition, where she had assisted with the housework and the care of Mrs. Harris, who is recovering from an attack of polio.

Mrs. Staben was found in her room, lying on the bed, by Mr. Harris when he came home from his store Tuesday evening. The Harris children had reportedly tried to awaken her previously and a neighbor had looked in upon her but she was thought to have been sleeping and was not disturbed.

Mrs. Staben had been under the care of a doctor for some time, being treated for high blood pressure, but her condition was not thought to be serious.

Mrs. Staben was born November 12, 1889, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Schultz. She was born in the Green school district near Ft. Calhoun and grew to womanhood in that vicinity.

On March 10, 1909, she was married to Chris Staben at Ft. Calhoun and to the couple four children were born. A son died in infancy.

Surviving their mother are Mrs. Max Jipp (Helen) of Ft. Calhoun; Arthur Staben of Calhoun and Otto Staben of North Hollywood, California. A granddaughter and four grandsons also survive. Mrs. Staben’s husband passed away in 1940.

Except for a year which was spent at Van Nuys, California, Mrs. Staben spent her entire life in Washington County. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

Funeral arrangements are awaiting word from Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Staben who left Saturday morning for the Black Hills and Yellowstone Park. An effort to contact them is being made at this time.
