George C. Staben, a resident of 1049 Washington Street for many years, died last Friday, January 2, at the Blair Hospital. The deceased was 78 years of age, having been born September 13, 1897.

He was a retired employee of the Nebraska Ordinance plant at Mead where he was employed for 20 years, but had been in poor health for the past several years and was confined in the Blair Hospital since December 1st. He was a member of the Blair Trinity Lutheran Church.

He has no living relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday, January 6th with the Rev. Charles Nenow conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.
