Harold E. Smith, 92

Services for Harold E. Smith, 92, who died August 12, 1994, at a Colorado Springs health care facility will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 17 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel of Roses in Colorado Springs. Rev. James W. Smith will officiate. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum.

Harold E. Smith was born to Elmer W. and Maude M. Blackburn Smith in Washington County, Nebraska December 9, 1901. His formal education was through tenth grade.

He had farmed. He moved to the area in 1989 and was a retired custom home builder in Fort Collins.

He was a member of the Home Guard during World War I.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Herman and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.

He married Emma H. Sprick January 9, 1924 in Washington County. She preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clinton H. Smith.

He is survived by one daughter, L. Pearl “Lindl” Lindstrom of Sonora, California; one son, Dr. Vern R. Smith of Colorado Springs and one sister, Gladys Meierhenry of Fremont.
