Services for Harry Smith Were Friday, October 11

Services for 77 year old Harry H. Smith were held on Friday, October 11th at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Mr. Smith died on October 8th at the Memorial Hospital of Fremont.

The 2 p.m. service was officiated by Rev. Donald Gesterling with burial in the St. Paul’s Cemetery. Reckmeyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith was born on January 28th, 1899 at Arapahoe, Nebraska. He moved to Arlington as a boy. Later he returned to Arapahoe where he farmed for several years. Later he moved to Arlington where he continued in the farming business until his retirement.

Mr. Smith never married but is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Pauline Smith, Arlington; a niece, Mrs. Fred Heybrock of Arlington, and a nephew, Boyd Giesselman of Arlington.

A memorial has been established for the St. Paul’s church in Mr. Smith’s name.

Pallbearers were Paul Heybrock, Hal Heybrock, Edwin Juedes, Alex Hofmann, Curtis Schmidt and Donald Schmidt.
