WALTER C. APPERSON, 87

Walter C. Apperson, 87, of Blair, died Oct. 29, 2004, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Harvey Oaks Baptist Church, 14515 Harvey Oaks Ave., Omaha. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Arcadia (Neb.) Cemetery.

Walter C. Apperson was born June 1, 1917, in Comstock to Albert and Martha (Bennett) Apperson.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as a shipping clerk for Vickers. Mr. Apperson was a member of the Harvey Oaks Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (Wibbels) Apperson of Blair; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Gary Heaston of Lincoln, Sherry and Nicholas Baker of Burke, Va., Susie and Ron Childress of Columbia, S.C.; stepchildren and spouses, Max and Janice Masters of Greenville, S.C., Dean and Betty Masters of Omaha, June and Vernon Babcock of Broken Bow, Steve and Jan Masters of Littleton, Colo., and Tracy and Becky Masters of Coopersville. Mich.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ellwyn and Wilma Apperson of Loup City; sister, Rosa Morrison of Paso Robles, Calif., and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline (Owens) Apperson, and a son, John Walter Apperson.

Memorials are suggested to the Harvey Oaks Baptist Church.

Heafey-Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler Westcenter Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
