KENYON STAFFORD

Funeral services for Kenyon Blake Stafford, 86, who died August 8, 1986, in Downey, California, were held Friday, August 15, at Moser Memorial chapel in Fremont. Rev. Herbert Kelly of the First Congregational Church officiated. Burial was in the Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Stafford was born July 3, 1900, the son of M.P. and Alice Stafford of Staffordsville, Virginia.

The family moved to the Nickerson area in 1910. He married Mildred P. Williams on December 12, 1921 in Omaha. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1938.

Stafford farmed in the Nickerson area until 1942 when he moved to Bell Gardens, California.

Stafford later married Etta Coates.

He is a former member of the Methodist church at Nickerson.

Survivors include his wife, Etta; two sons, Paul Stafford of Quitman, Texas and Lloyd Coates of Cypress, California; two daughters, Marjorie Hunt of Englewood, Colorado and Darlene Roberts of Yucca Valley, California; two brothers, Garnet and Woodrow Stafford, both of Fremont; four sisters, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Catlett of Lincoln; May Roberts of Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Leland (Virginia) Johnson of Hooper; and Ruby Bowles of Arroyo Grande, California; and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mildred; one son, James Lowell and an infant son.

Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
