ALMA LOUISE STALNAKER, 79

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 13, at First United Methodist Church in Grand Island for Alma Louise Blomstedt Stalnaker, 79.

Alma Louise Blomstedt Stalnaker was born September 8, 1910 at Boelus, Nebraska to Karl and Agnes Blomstadt. She received her education in the Farnam, Nebraska schools.

She married Eugene Z. Stalnaker September 8, 1934 at Grand Island, Nebraska and was wife, mother, homemaker and friend to many in the area until March, 1989 when she moved to Blair to reside with her children.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Grand Island. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women’s Circle; Cancer Mount; and served as church historian; as a 4-H leader and Scout Den Mother.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; three brothers; one grandson and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene; three sons, Robert of Grand Island; Ronald of Blair; and David of Portland, Oregon; and two daughters, Caroline Hochstetler and Sande Bowles, both of Blair. Three brothers, Peter Blomstedt of Grand Island; Harry Blomstedt of Ralston; and Oscar Blomstedt of Lincoln; four sisters, Anna Stenka, Grand Island; Mary Kosmicki, St. Paul, Nebraska; Edith Phlman, Noxon, Montana; and Elsie Simmons, Bells, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive her.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Grand Island.

Apfel, Butler, Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island is in charge of arrangements for the services.
