Blanche Soderberg, 92

Services for Blanche Soderberg, 92, of Fremont, who died April 4, 1992 at her home were Wednesday, April 8 at First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Rev. Carol Roettmer Brewer officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Blanche Wyant was born February 6, 1900 in Newman Grove, Nebraska, where she grew up. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

She was a teacher in Nebraska and in Des Moines, Iowa public schools for 11 years. She lived in Mead, Nebraska before moving to Fremont in 1948.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, served on the altar guild, was a Gray Lady and Red Cross Volunteer at what is now Memorial Hospital of Dodge County and a member of both the Arbor Vitae Chapter No. 92 Order of Eastern Star and the Lewis-Clark Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former member of the Mu Phi Epsilon sorority at Northwestern University.

She married Gordon Soderberg December 29, 1929 in Newman Grove. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Gordon W. Soderberg of Blair; a daughter, Beverly (Mrs. Garland) Jessen of Omaha; a sister, Arlene (Mrs. Edward) Kennedy of San Jose, California and six grandchildren.

A memorial has been established to the church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
