Berek T. Solano died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the First Methodist Church in Raton. N.M.

Berek Taylor Solano was born on Feb. 23, 1984, in Raton, N.M. to Ralph and Melanie (Kropf) Solano.

He was a free spirit and had a heart of gold. He spent much of his time doing what he did best, working as a carpenter and playing music. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and relatives. He was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Melanie and Steve Booton of Blair; one brother, Dreyson Solono of Raton; two sisters, Aubryna and Ciaran Booton of Blair; grandmother, Ruby Kropf of Capulin; grandparents, Fabie and Andy Solano of Raton and Bill and Helen Booton of Blair; uncles and aunts, Wade Kropf of Eagle Nest; Ted and Deborah Solano of Albuquerque, N.M., Time and Sue Booton of Omaha; aunts and uncles, Lori and Domingo Cruz of Capulin; Sandra and Bill Langan of Aurora, Colo., Kathy Detrick of Blair, Angel and Ray Luksich of Raton; and 13 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Solano, and grandfather, Archie Kropf.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Raton High School Band.

Yaksich-Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
