Clifford M. Soll, 80

Clifford M. “Tip” Soll, 80, of Blair, died Friday, June 2, 2006, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Clifford M. Soll was born June 17, 1925, in Scribner to Ludwig and Ella (Struve) Soll.

He moved to Blair in 1930 and graduated from Blair High School in 1942.

After graduation, he worked on a tugboat taking barges up and down the river. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

On March 28, 1964, he married Virginia Rasmussen in Blair.

Mr. Soll owned Soll Brothers Grocery until 1963, then worked for Runyon & Long Construction until 1987. He also worked at Carlson-Drefs Quality Meats and for the Blair City Parks Department in the summers.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sheryl Biffar of Blair; daughter, Kathy Salsbury of Blair; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Darwin Soll of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, in 1998.

Memorials are suggested to the Blair Rescue Squad.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
