Velma D. Boyce, 88

Velma D. Boyce, 88, of Blair died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will follow services in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Velma D. Salsbury was born May 29, 1926, in rural Blair, to William and Evelyn (Terrant) Salsbury.

On May 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Albert “Gus” Boyce. After they were married, they made their home in Blair.

Velma was employed at Campbell’s Soup in Fremont. She worked as a waitress for various owners at the Blair Maple and the Viking Restaurant. Her last job was as a housekeeper at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

She enjoyed sharing her home with her family and friends, baking and canning.

Velma was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Velma is survived by sons: Darrell (Debi) Boyce of Herman, Bill Boyce of Washington State and Dale Boyce of Wahoo; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Gus” Boyce; daughter Rosetta and son George “Butch”; and siblings: Viola Colgan, Mary Salsbury and William Salsbury.
