Since the exact death date was not given, the date of the newspaper article was used. Published in The Pilot, 5/29/1912 Mrs. H. P. Sorensen died of dropsy at her home, the old French place in West Blair, at 3:15 Monday morning and the funeral was held at the Danish church at 1:30 yesterday afternoon, Rev. Koeller officiating. Anna Katherine Jensen was born in Denmark May 17, 1863 and was therefore but 49 years and 10 days old. She came to America in 1886 and was married to H.P. Sorensen. They made their home on a farm near Herman until about six years ago, when they moved onto a farm two miles south of this city. Last February they bought the old A. French place of E. Z. Russell and moved to town. Besides the husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. H. F. Enger of Herman and Agnes and Camilla, who lived at home. Also three sons are at home, Edward, Carl and William. She leaves one brother, John Jensen of Craig; and three brothers, two sisters and her aged parents in Denmark. Mrs. Sorenson has been sick since last October and for some time past Mrs. Cruickshank has been nursing her. A hardening of the liver brought on dropsy and death seemed inevitable. She was a good wife and a kind and loving mother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Many of the old neighbors from Herman came to attend the funeral. # 2 - - Blair Democrat, May 30, 1912 Mrs. H. P. Sorensen, who lived on the Russell place in west Blair, died Monday after having suffered for the past three years with a general breakdown in health, and the funeral was held Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen moved to Blair from near Herman about three years ago and built a home in north Blair. Later they disposed of this and bought the old Bailey farm south of town where they resided until coming to Blair a short time ago. Deceased was about 50 years of age, and besides the husband, two boys and three girls are left to mourn her death.
