CARL C. SORENSEN, 86

Carl C. Sorensen, 86, of Blair, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at First Lutheran Church in Blair, with the Rev. Walt Behrens officiating. Interment will be at the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman.

Carl C. Sorensen was born April 4, 1915 in Eldora, Iowa, to Hans C. and Kristinia (Hansen) Sorensen.

Mr. Sorensen lived his entire life in the Blair area. He owned and operated the Blair Flour Mill for more than 30 years, retiring in 1971.

On March 21, 1941, he married Viva Christiansen. She preceded him in death in 1983.

On June 3, 1989, he married Rachel Hansen in Blair.

Mr. Sorensen was a member of the Blair Housing Authority from 1971 to 1979, and a member of the First Lutheran Church of Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel; son and daughter-in-law, Steven K. and Bruce Ann Sorensen of Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi Lynn and Ronald Schneider of Wichita, Kan.; and daughter, Joi Viva Sorensen of Omaha; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his stepchildren and their spouses, Marcia Rae Golden of Blair; Joan Marie and Doyle Schroeder of Talmage,; Rodney and Patricia Hansen of Blair; and Douglas and Shari Hansen of Omaha; and six step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Sorensen, and a sister, Lillian Dunlap.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
