CARL G. SORENSEN DIED AT HOSPITAL HERE TUESDAY

Carl G. Sorensen, well-known farmer of the Blair area, died at Memorial Community Hospital Tuesday, September 23rd. He had been in failing health for a number of years and had been hospitalized much of the time during the past summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen lived at 1334 Grant Street which they had purchased about ten years ago when they retired from active farming.

Carl Godfrey Sorensen was born at Staplehurst, Nebraska May 26, 1903. He was 66 years of age at the time of his death.

As a younger man he was a very active farmer on the bottomlands north of Blair. He proved to be a good farmer and one who could be termed a successful farmer.

About ten years ago the Sorensens decided to retire from farming and they purchased the nearly-new brick home of Clarence King at 1334 Grant Street and moved to Blair. This has been their home since that time.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, and by a daughter and two sons. The daughter is Mrs. Rosalyn Hansen of Omaha and the sons are Milton Sorensen of Blair and Eugene Sorensen of Cincinnati, Ohio. One child died in infancy.

He is also survived by several brothers and a sister, all to whom are well known in this area. Miss Naomi Sorensen is a sister, living at Blair. Gudmond Sorensen of Blair and Henry Sorensen of Purdy, Missouri are well known here. A brother, Otto Sorensen lives at Fremont and William Sorensen lives at Falls City. A brother, Hans Sorensen, preceded him in death.

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. George Pallesen conducting the service. Burial under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Sorensen, Eldred Kempcke, Merle Sonderup, Charles Roach, Robert Sorensen and Arthur Mumm.
