Arlington native Dorothy L. Sorensen, 78 of Fremont, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 at the Pathfinder House in Fremont.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fremont. Interment is in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Dorothy L. Brinkman was born June 14, 1929 in Arlington to John and Linda (Sperling) Brinkman. She was raised in Arlington and attended St. Paul Lutheran School and Arlington High School. After high school, she received nurses’ training.

On Dec. 30, 1949, she married Leslie Sorensen in Papillion. The couple lived in Arlington and moved to Fremont in 1961. She worked for Campbell’s Soup and for her uncles at the Sperling Turkey Farm.

Mrs. Sorensen was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Russell Ahlers and Christine and David Stansberry, all of Beatrice; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Sorensen, Russell and Lori Sorensen, and John Sorensen, all of Fremont; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Meier of Carlsbad, N.M.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Milton Brinkman of Wichita, Kan., and Leland and Delores Brinkman of Monument, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, in 2004; and a son, Gary.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
