GUDMOND SORENSEN
Gudmond “Charlie” Sorensen died last Wednesday in a Great Falls, Montana, nursing home at the age of 85.
He was born April 18, 1901, in Staplehurst, Nebraska, where he received his education. He also farmed there.
On September 27, 1922, he married Ruth Vedsted in Staplehurst.
They later moved to Blair, where he farmed until retiring in 1974.
In that same year, they moved to Great Falls to be near their daughter, Loretta Riley.
Sorensen was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
He is survived by daughter Loretta Riley, Great Falls; granddaughters Renee Mullins of Bozeman, Montana; and Brenda Riley of Tacoma, Washington; a sister, Naomi Sorensen of Blair; and a brother, Bill Sorensen of Falls City.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on February 25, 1985 and four brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. last Saturday at the Faith Lutheran Church in Great Falls. Rev. Stan Rosengren officiated.
Burial was at Highland Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the O’Connor Funeral Home in Great Falls.
