Beverly J. Steimer, 79

Beverly J. Steimer, 79, of Omaha, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Crosby Burket Swanson Golden Funeral Home in Omaha. Committal will be in the Blair Cemetery following Friday’s services. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bev was born Jan. 23, 1936, to Ward and Rose (McArdle) Gould in Omaha.

She grew up in Omaha with her sister, Donna, and graduated from Underwood High School.

She then moved to a farm in Kennard where she raised her two children: Mary and Larry.

She married the love of her life, Bill, on March 23, 1984, in a small ceremony in Omaha where they would make their home.

Bev was a country girl and she enjoyed playing guitar for friends and family and would even sing at the Red Barn Opry House in Omaha. She was an avid football fan and felt very passionately about her Huskers.

She and Bill enjoyed traveling, especially to Canada at Totem Lodge where they spent time fishing. She and Bill would travel to RV parks and spend their weekends camping, fishing and spending time with friends and family.

She always kept her flower gardens beautiful and full of life.

Bev and Bill bought a 1962 Corvette and spent time with their friends at the Midwest Early Corvette Club. She also loved going to the casinos and playing the slots, hoping to hit it big one day.

Bev was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially at the holidays. She cherished her dog, Sheiba, and loved spoiling her, too.

She will be dearly missed by those who loved her most. Her smile will forever remain in their hearts.

She is survived by husband Bill Steimer of Omaha; children: Mary (Bowen) Weaver of Arlington, Dan Steimer of Omaha and Pam (Steimer) Lay of Omaha; sister Donna Cahill of Florida; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was joined in heaven by her parents, Ward and Rose Gould, and son Larry Bowen.
