Tim Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jensen, died instantly, in a traffic accident which took place about 5:30 o’clock Monday evening of this week, June 27th.

The car Tim was driving was struck broadside by a Chevrolet sedan driven by Mrs. Ivan Larsen well known and long-time employee of the Hansen Insurance Agency in Blair.

The scene of the accident was in front of the Lester Wulf farm home 5 ½ miles west of Blair on Highway 91. Tim, driving a Plymouth Duster, was proceeding east, following a car, reportedly driven by Eldon Wulf.

Mrs. Larsen was driving west, enroute to her farm home near Kennard.

The Eldon Wulf vehicle did not, apparently, figure in the accident. In some manner, Tim lost control of his car, which skidded sideways down the road and was struck by Mrs. Larsen’s car which was moving down the hill toward the west.

Mrs. Larsen was cut about the face and chest and was taken to the Blair Hospital for treatment and examination. The Blair Rescue Squad responded to the call for assistance.

Tim, who was 17 years of age, was a graduate of the 1977 Blair High School Senior Class. He was President of the Senior Class and was Homecoming King. He was a member of the High School Senior Choir, the Boys’ Octet, the Swing Choir and took part in the Blair High Musical both in his Junior and Senior year.

He belonged to the Blair Little League, the Midgets and the Legion Ball Teams. He was in uniform at the time of the accident, enroute to take part in a game. In High School, he lettered in Football in his Senior Year.

Timothy Dean Jensen was born at Blair October 27, 1959. He was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum in November 1959 and confirmed in June, 1973. He grew up on the family farm southwest of Blair and attended school in Blair.

He is survived by his parents, Jack P. Jensen and his mother, the former Opal Rasmussen. His grandparents, Harold and Hazel Rasmussen, live a short distance from the scene of the accident on highway 91.

In addition, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lowell (Jacqueline) Moore of North Platte, Nebraska and by a brother Mark Jensen, of Lincoln. There are many other aunts and uncles in Washington County.

Mr. Jensen farms and is a Washington County Supervisor. Mrs. Jensen is an officer with the Washington County Bank in Blair.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Blair on Thursday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Wayne Josephson will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Orum Cemetery near the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Campbell Mortuary will be in charge.
