FUNERAL SERVICES FRIDAY FOR GEORGE APPLEGARTH

Funeral services were held at the Sievers Funeral Home Friday for George W. Applegarth, 74, who passed away in the Blair Hospital on September 21st. Rev. Lynn Williams officiated and burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

George Applegarth was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 21, 1902 to Charles and Rachel Applegarth. He was married in 1948 to Mary Brust. They spent their lives in Nebraska, and in 1972, they came to Fort Calhoun to live with a son.

Mrs. Applegarth preceded her husband in death in 1974. After retirement his hobby was his garden.

He is survived by six grandchildren, Carl Prawl of Fort Calhoun; Gerald Prawl of New York; Donald Prawl of Hasings; Beverly Eastman of Grand Island; Lawrence Prawl of Omaha; Virginia Wineger, and Sherry Jean Hartman of Hastings; a brother, Jesse Applegarth of North Platte and 14 great-grandchildren.
