Mrs. Hans Sorensen, 68, resident of the area north of Blair for more than 35 years, died in a Sioux City hospital early Wednesday of this week. She succumbed to injuries received in a car crash Sunday, June 10th.

Her death brought the fatalities in the accident to four. Her husband, Hans Sorensen, had been killed outright in the crash and two others in the car which struck that of the Sorensens were also killed instantly. The accident occurred near Winnebago, Nebraska. An 18 year old girl, driving an oncoming car, lost control of her vehicle when it drifted onto the soft shoulder of the road and the car swerved into the lane of the Sorensen vehicle when she attempted to get back onto the pavement.

Mrs. Sorensen was born at Staplehurst, Nebraska December 21, 1893. She was married to Hans Sorensen in 1917 and shortly after that they moved to a farm north of Blair. They lived in this vicinity for 35 years.

Mrs. Sorensen is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Eldred Kempcke (Irene) of Blair; Mrs. Leona Jones of Lexington; and Mrs. Sally Swartz of Omaha.

A son Leo Sorensen, preceded his mother in death nine years ago.

Mrs. Sorensen is also survived by four brothers and four sisters. They are Philip Vested, Seward, Nebraska; Boas Vested of Colorado; Emmet Vested of Staplehurst, Nebraska and Ivan Vested of Califoirnia.

The sisters are Mrs. Ruth Sorensen of Blair; Mrs. Lydia Dahl of Staplehurst; Mrs. Esther Jameson of California; and Mrs. Evelyn Godell of Seward.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 22, at the First Lutheran Church. The Rev. George Pallesen will conduct the service and interment, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, will be made beside her husband in the Blair Cemetery.
