SERVICES SET FOR HARRY SORENSEN

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at First Lutheran Church for Harry Frederich Sorensen, who died May 15, 1983 in Fremont.

There will be a prayer service Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Rev. Kurt Sortland and the Rev. Carl Shattauer Jr. will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Harry Frederich Sorensen was born in Eldora, Iowa, May 16, 1909 to Hans C. and Kristine Hansen Sorensen. He attended Blair Public Schools, graduating in May 1927.

He worked at Blair Flour Mill for three years after graduation before purchasing Martin Kuhr’s interest in that business.

He married Agatha Madsen on October 5, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She preceded him in death November 22, 1962. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Annette) Holtam, Fremont; and Mrs. Dale (Charlotte) Jensen, Melvin, Iowa; and a son, Ronald Sorensen. Seventeen grandchildren; three foster grandsons; a brother, Carl C. Sorensen, Blair; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Dunlap, Omaha and Mrs. Alma Parrish, Tulsa, Oklahoma, also survive him.

Pallbearers will be David Jenson, Douglas Jenson, Robert Jenson, Thomas Sorensen, Andrew Sorensen, William Sorensen, and Darold “Ozzie” Webster.

Clare Cowing will be organist. Homer Nielsen will be soloist.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
