KATHRYN L. “TOOTIE” SORENSEN, 69

After a long illness, Kathryn L. Sorensen, 69 of Blair, died Nov. 30, 2004 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the First Christian Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kathryn L. “Tootie” Sorensen was born June 1, 1935 in Omaha to Wallace “Squire” and Gladys (Gilliam) Fitch. She grew up and went to school in Blair, but graduated from high school in Grants, N.M. in 1952.

On March 27, 1960 she married Milton “Pete” Sorensen at Ashland. The couple farmed at Blair from 1960 until 1995. Mrs. Sorensen worked for Kelly Ryan Manufacturing; Wilkinson Manufacturing; the Washington County Assessor’s Office; and at the P&W Fertilizer Plant. She purchased and restored the renamed Landmark Inn from 1983 until 1993.

She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was active in Bible Study and church work most of her life. She taught Sunday School for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Sorensen; daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Lindsey Stark of Blair; and Gayle and Joseph Smith of Omaha; sons and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Rita Sorensen, and Lowell Sorensen, all of Blair; five grandchildren; sister, Joyce Fitch; and brother, Bernard “Daty” Fitch, both of Blair; sister-in-law, Judy Fitch of Halstead, Kan.; and nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rodger Fitch.

VISITATION will begin 10 am Fri, with family receiving visitors from 6 – 8 pm at the Funeral Home. SERVICE 1 pm Sat at First Christian Church in Blair.
