KERSTETTER ----Stanley A. age 87 of Kennard, NE. Survived by wife, Grace; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Cindy, Ron and special friend Karen, all of Kennard, Roger and Billie, Madera, CA; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Bill Echtenkamp, Kennard, Janece and James Stratman, Bennington; step-brothers, Kermit Cornelius, Omaha, Keith Cornelius, Moveille, IA; sister, Faye Kay of Bennington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. SERVICES 10:30 am Fri. at Emmaus Lutheran Church, Kennard. Burial at Kennard Cemetery. Visitation will begin 9 am Thur. with Family receiving friends 6-8pm. Memorials to Kennard Air Conditioning Fund or to the Church.

Stanley A. Kerstetter, 87, of Kennard, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Stanley Aaron Kerstetter was born March 1, 1918, in Washington, Neb., to Earnest and Emma (Stender) Kerstetter. He attended Star Town County School.

On Feb. 27, 1941, he entered the U.S. Army at Omaha. He served in World War II, where he was deployed in the China-Burma-India theater. He was honorably discharged Nov. 11, 1945.

On May 26, 1946, he married Grace Peetz at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn.

In 1947, Mr. Kerstetter purchased a rural milk route and lived in Kennard. His business expanded to livestock transport and cornshelling. He ran his Kennard Transfer business for more than 55 years.

He enjoyed family celebrations and traveling with his wife, Grace. He also enjoyed his motorcycles, especially his 1953 Harley Davidson. He will be remembered as a hard worker, dedicated to his business, and someone who always saw the good in people.

He was a member of the Kennard Fire Department, Kennard American Legion, and Emmaus Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Billie of Madera, Calif., Ken and Cindy of Kennard, Ron and special friend, Karen, of Kennard; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Bill Echtenkamp of Kennard, Janece and James Stratman of Bennington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Kay of Bennington; step-brothers, Kermit Cornelius of Omaha and Keith Cornelius of Moville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brent Kerstetter, brother, Clyde, and stepbrother, Calvin Cornelius.

Memorials are suggested to the Kennard Auditorium's air-conditioner fund, or Emmaus Lutheran Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
