Buried in New England Cemetery

Since the exact death date was not given, the date of the first newspaper article was used. Published in the Pilot, January 31, 1912

Peter Sorensen was taken to the Omaha General Hospital Monday of last week with a severe case of appendicitis and was operated upon that same evening. It was too late for the appendix had broken and peritonitis set in. He lived until 11:20 Sunday night when death claimed him. Supt. John Rhoades went down Monday morning to see about bringing the body up for burial. It was brought up Tuesday morning and taken to Herman, the funeral being held in the New England church, his parents being buried in the churchyard near by. Rev. G. R. McKeith of this city went up to conduct the funeral. There was a large attendance, being almost as many outside the church as could get inside, which shows something of the esteem in which the young man was held. He was but little past 21 years of age and leaves one sister, Anna, who makes her home with Mr. and Mrs. Rhoades, and a younger brother, Martin.
