OTIS ARCHER DIED AT THE AGE OF 74

Services for Otis Archer of Arlington were held Friday, April 18th at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Mr. Archer died Monday, April 14th, at the hospital in Fremont.

He was born May 14, 1900 in Nebraska. Archer was raised in Boone County and was a Fremont resident until 1951, when he and his wife moved to Arlington. He was Chief of Police in Arlington for eight years before he retired. Archer was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

He married Anna Marie Classen February 17, 1920, at Humphrey. She died March 3, 1972.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Barbara) Christ, Omaha and Mrs. Marvin (Mearldean) Claypool, Sacramento, California; sons, Orville, Woodland, California, and Corles, Moses Lake, Washington; sisters, Mrs. William (Gladys) Gosser, Hays, Kansas, and Mrs. Allen (Dorothy) Pickett, McDonald, Kansas; brothers, Alfred Archer, Yakima, Washington, Everett Archer, Kantarado, Kansas; Robert Archer, Arizona, Melvin Archer, Denver, Colorado and Elmer Moore, Levant, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rosary was Thursday at Lattin Dugan Chambers Funeral Home.

Burial was in Clavary Cemetery.
