John Kiersch, 87, Buried Wednesday

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for John Adolph Christian Kiersch, 87 year old Blair man who lived at 1422 Jackson street, Blair. Mr. Kiersch, a retired farmer, died at Memorial Community Hospital last Saturday, December 3rd following a brief illness.

The deceased was born at Mineola, Iowa May 14, 1879. He is survived by two daughters, his wife having preceded him in death. The daughters are Mrs. Claar Rogers, (Hilda) of Blair and Mrs. Ardo Koenig, (Wilma) of El Paso, Texas. There are six grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children. A sister, Mrs. Frank Schoening, lives at Glenwood, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Bendorf Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel Kemmerer of the First Baptist Church conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery.

Pall bearers were Melvin Giesselman, Alfred Kiersch, Gail Decker, Leonard Kiersch, Loren Rogers and Lyle Rogers.
