Robert Kiger, 57

Robert F. Kiger, 57, of Fremont died Monday, April 13, 1998, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Services were April 17 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 854 and American Legion Post No. 20.

Mr. Kiger was born April 25, 1940 at Omaha. He was a graduate of Fremont Senior High School. He moved with his family to Fremont in 1953 from Springfield. He served in the United States Army from Sept. 16, 1963, to Sept. 15, 1965, and was stationed in Korea. He and his brother, Bill, owned Wild Bill’s Drive-In and Star Broiler Restaurant, both former Fremont businesses. In 1970, they started Kiger Brother R-V Sales in Fremont. On May 22, 1967, he married Carrie A. Beebe at Fremont.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 200 of Fremont and the Eagles Camping Club. He served on the Timberwood Lake Association Board of directors and was a former member of Izaak Walton League in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Sharon Kiger of Fremont and many cousins in Washington County.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Fremont Area Medical Center Oncology Department.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
