William E. Kile, Jr., 70

William E. Kile, Jr., 70, of Fremont, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services were Monday, Oct. 18 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev Shirley Schmidt officiated. Military graveside services were conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post #854 and the American Legion Post #20. Burial was in the Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.

William E. Kile, Jr., was born December 26, 1928, to William and Edna (Miller) Kile in McGregor, Iowa. He grew up in McGregor and was a 1949 graduate of McGregor High School. He worked for McGregor Wholesale Grocery Corporation from 1944 to 1950, and served in the U.S. Army from September of 1950 to June of 1952; during the Korean War. He moved to Fremont in 1952 and he was employed with Hormel Food Corporation as a quality control inspector until retiring in 1991.

On Oct. 10, 1958, he married Barbara Long in Fremont.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Aid Association for Lutherans, the American Legion Post #20 of Fremont and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 of Fremont.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; two daughters and a son-in-law, Stacey Kile of Omaha, and Jamie and Scott Johnson of Blair; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Wanda Kile of Marion, Iowa; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle and Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Marion and Robert Kile.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
