OBITUARY

Louis* Ellerton Kimberlin passed away Monday evening, May 6, at his home on east South street after about a year and a half of illness when he was practically helpless. He was eighty years, nine months and one day old at the time of his death.

The deceased was born August 5, 1848 at Wooster County, Ohio, the youngest of four children. He came to Nebraska in 1865 and settled in Washington county near Fontanelle. He was married to Eva Vinson July 14, 1875 at Fontanelle, Neb. They lived some time on the farm and Mr. Kimberlin taught school for twelve terms farming in the summer and teaching in the winter.

They then moved to Fremont, and later to Chicago. In 1919 they returned to Blair where they have since made their home.

Mr. Kimberlin is survived by his wife, three cousins and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from the home at two p.m. Wednesday, May 8th, and burial was made in the Telbasta cemetery.

Louis Ellerton Kimberlin was born August 5, 1848 in Wooster county, Ohio, and died at his home in this city Monday evening after a lingering illness of several years’ duration. In 1865 he came to Washington county and located at Fontanelle, and on July 24, 1875 he was united in marriage with Eva Vinson at that village. The couple lived on a farm and during the winter months, Mr. Kimberlin taught in the public schools. They later lived in Fremont, Chicago and Missouri, and returned to Blair in 1919 where they have since resided. Mr. Kimberlin held a wide acquaintance in Washington county and had a large circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the family home on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Carl G. Bader, assisted by Rev. E. J. Hancock, officiating, after which interment was made in the Telbasta cemetery. Special music at the service was furnished by Miss Gertrude Mead and Mrs. E. J. Hancock.
