John Kimsey

Services for John Roy Kimsey, 61, of Blair, who died Monday, December 2, 1985, in the Blair Memorial Community Hospital, are Thursday, December 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Dr. Howard Bailey and the Rev. John Ewton will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Kimsey was born January 19, 1924, the son of Darrell and Zeta Kimsey of Shenandoah, Iowa. He married Jeanne Wilcoxson on April 17, 1945, in Troy, Kansas.

He attended school in Clarinda, Iowa, and was drafted into the service following graduation from high school.

The Kimseys lived in Shenandoah for three years then moved to Blair in November, 1958, where he worked for Carlson Meat Plant as a meat cutter for 20 years. He worked for Kelly Ryan for one and One-half years before retiring.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Clarinda, Iowa, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair.

Survivors include his wife of Blair, and his mothers, also of Blair, two daughters, Mrs. Ken (Claudia) Johnson of Blair, and Mrs. Harry (Shelia) Kellenbarger of Lincoln; one son, John of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jim Williby, Bill Hunt, Jerry Wilke, Wayne Smith, Harry McMullen, Jim Stoddard and Bob Renshaw.

Organist is Katy Flynn and vocalist is Melvin Misfeldt.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.
