Doris Allen

Doris Faye Allen, 89, Tekamah, and widow of Dr. James G. Allen (longtime Tekamah physician), passed away late Tuesday evening, April 14, 1987 at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair after a brief illness.

She was born on February 12, 1898, at Ogallala to Oscar and Mathilda (Westenburg) Lindburg.

A graduate of South High School in Omaha, Allen received her Normal Training at Kearney and taught in the Omaha Public Schools for several years.

She was married to James G. Allen on December 24, 1924, at Omaha.

Dr. Allen passed away on July 3, 1964.

She was a member of the Tekamah Book Club, a fifty-year member of Craig Chapter No. 157, O.E.S. and a fifty-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Craig and Tekamah.

She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah.

Survivors include two daughters: Phyllis Hovendick of Omaha and Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Barbara Tucek of Columbus; three grand-daughters; Karen Sanz of Corvallis, Oregon, Ann Aldieri of Wilmington, North Carolina and Jeannie Tucek of Columbus and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 on Saturday, April 18, 1987, at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah; Rev. Thomas E. Robson officiated.

Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.
