FREDERICK ARKOOSH, SR., 82

Services were Wednesday, August 21, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Omaha for Frederick G. Arkoosh, St., 82, of Omaha, who died Saturday, August 17 of a heart attack at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Frederick G. Arkoosh, Sr., was born may 23, 1914 in Laramie, Wyoming to Kaiser and Amelia Sliman Arkoosh. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1937.

He worked for General Electric in St. Louis until 1941 when he was put in charge of the Omaha office of the St. Louis Ordnance District during World War II. He was a retired Army lieutenant colonel.

He was founder and chief executive officer of Wilkinson Manufacturing Co., which was founded in 1948. He had been chairman of the board at Wilkinson for slightly more than 10 years.

He was a member of the Bergan Mercy board of directors for about 12 years and served as treasurer. He was a member of the Omaha’s Downtown Rotary Club, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at the University of Wyoming and of Happy Hollow. He was also co-founder of the Christ the King Education Foundation.

He is survived by his wife, Olive; children, Fred G. Arkoosh, Jr., and Suzanne A. Caruso, both of Omaha and Dr. Valerie Arkoosh of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a granddaughter and her husband, Kimberly and Tim Kelley of Dallas, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, George and pat Arkoosh of Tucson, Arizona and sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Britt Davis of Laramie, Wyoming; Beverly and Bruce Massey of Yuma, Arizona and Frances and John Vande Kerk, Rock Valley, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to Christ the King Education Trust Fund.

John A. Gentleman Westside Chapel in Omaha was in charge of arrangements.
