Funeral services for Richard Clark, 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa, were held Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Fisher-Aldrich Funeral Home in Waukee, Iowa. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Mr. Clark died of a heart aliment on Friday, May 10, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.

Richard Allen Clark was born Dec. 3, 1927, in Harvey, Iowa, to Earl Mikesell and Mary Jane (Price) Clark. He graduated from Harvey High School. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947.

On May 6, 1950 he married Bonnie Eleanor Ray at Fort Des Moines in Des Moines.

Mr. Clark lived in Des Moines until 1959, when he moved to Waukee, where he lived for 30 years. He had lived in Marshalltown since 1989. He worked in manufacturing at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines during the Korean War and then attended radio and television school. He entered the television industry in its early years and worked at two stations in Des Moines, including WHO-TV, where he worked as an engineer and master control operation for 34 years until his retirement in 1987.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Sheryl Clark of Blair, and Michael Clark and Eloise McPherson of Sonoma County, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Harms of Story City, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Cheryl Clark of Merritt Island, Fla., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; his parents; his parents, a daughter, Sandi Abild-Clark, and a granddaughter, Chandra Clark.
