PEARL E. ARMBRUST, 87

Pearl E. Armbrust, 87, of North Bend died Friday, July 17 1998, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Services were Monday, July 20, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Verdell Schramm of St. Peter Lutheran Church of North Bend officiating.

Pallbearers were William Wesley, Allan, Larry, Stephen and Michael Enfield and Melvin Armbrust.

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Pearl E. Timm was born Sept. 7, 1910, at Blair to Henry and Mathilda (Rasmussen) Timm. She grew up on a farm near Blair.

On July 6, 1935, she married Christian E. Armbrust in Omaha. They moved to Chicago in 1936.

She was a cook for the nursing school at Cook County Hospital and later worked at Chicago Screw Co. She moved to Downers Grove, Ill. In 1948 and worked part time at the Morton Arboretum at Lisle, Ill., and she did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels. She moved to North Bend in 1986 and lived at Birchwood Manor from December 1994 until moving to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair in 1996.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Bend, the North American Gladiolus Society, Downers Grove Woman’s Garden Club, the Cook-Dupage Beekeepers Association and Downers Grove Estates Fire Department, which she and her husband helped to start.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bill Wesley of Downers Grove, Ill., and one sister, Dorothy Enfield of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christian; and her parents.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
