Mrs. Elsie Clauson died last Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 10 o’clock p.m. aged 74 years. Funeral services on Friday, Rev. A. W. Lambrecht of Blair officiating, taking for his text Hebrew 9-27. Interment in the Cemetery at German hall southeast of Kennard.

The funeral of Mrs. Elsie Clausen was held from the home here Friday at 1 o’clock, Rev. A. W. Lambrecht, of Blair officiating. He spoke in both English and German, using for his English text Heb.9, 27 and Mark 13, 25-37 for his German text. The house and yard was filled with friends. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. Mrs. Clausen’s nearest relatives are the Jahnel family, their mother being her sister. Mrs. Clausen was born in Miemster, Germany, where she grew to womanhood and married Christian Clausen, June 18, 1873. No children came to their home. They came to America and located in Scranton, Pa., in 1873, but only resided there a short time. They came to Washington, Neb., where Mr. Clausen died April, 1911. Then Mrs. Clausen came to Kennard to be near her relatives. She had been sick for several months with dropsy and her death was not unexpected. Interment was made in the German Cemetery.

MRS. CLAUSSEN DEAD

Mrs. Chritian Claussen died at her home in Kennard on last Wednesday and was buried in the German Cemetery on last Friday.

Mrs. Claussen came to this country in 1873 landing in Scranton, Pennsylvania and shortly after that came to Nebraska where she was since lived.

At her death she was seventy four years old and her husband had preceded her to the great beyond four years before. She leaves only relatives on her sister’s side, the late Mrs. Frank Jahnel, to mourn her. She had been a sufferer from dropsy for a number of years and which finally was the cause of her death.

(The family surname was spelled 2-3 different ways in these three obituaries.)
