SAM CLAUSEN, 66 DIES AT NASHVILLE

FARMER SOUTH OF CALHOUN BURIED MONDAY AFTERNOON

Sam Clausen, 66, farmer living south of Fort Calhoun in Nashville community, died Saturday after being in ill health for some time and confined to his bed for about a week. He had lived in Washington County most of his life.

Born in Denmark in 1868, Mr. Clausen came to America when a youth of 18 years and took up farming as his life’s vocation. All but five of his years in the United States were spent in this county.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Arthur Clausen of Fort Calhoun and Harry of California; a daughter, Olga, of near Irvington; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church there, with Rev. R. H. Prentice officiating. Interment followed in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
