Axel Clausen/Claussen
Died on 4/17/1918
Buried in Fort Calhoun Cemetery

Since the death date was not given the newspaper article date was used. Published in the Pilot April 17, 1918

Axel Claussen, the young nephew of Mrs. E. C. Nelsen, who was so seriously ill with pneumonia last week, passed away Wednesday morning and was buried at Calhoun Friday. Another aunt, Mrs. Jacobsen, of Raymond, and his youngest brother, Harry, were present. It is sad when a young man is called but it is the will of God and no doubt the young man had fulfilled his task here. His father and stepmother, two brothers and one sister are left to mourn for him, also several other relatives and scores of friends.

(The Fort Calhoun online Cemetery record has the name spelled Clausen and comparing it to his family member’s obituaries, it has to be Clausen. Must be a typo in the newspaper article.)
