Dale Dewain Claxton, 45, of Cortez, Colo., and Omaha native, was killed May 29, 1998, in Cortez.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at the Montezuma-Cortez High School Football Field with Pastor Michael Thornton and Police Chief Roy Lane officiating.

Dale Dewain Claxton was born March 15, 1953, in Omaha to Dairl Dewain and Agnes Lucille Claxton. He was a police officer in Cortez, Colo.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Elizabeth Claxton of Cortez; two daughters, Judy Louise Claxton Choate of Niagra, Mo, and Caitlin Makenzie Claxton of Cortez; two sons, Colton Tyler Claxton, of Buffalo, Mo., and Corbin Walker Claxton of Cortez; his parents, Dairl and Agnes Claxton of Marshfield, Mo.; four sisters, Bonnie Christianson and Judy Moore, both of Blair, and Sherri Zwally and Carolyn Valdez, both of Marshville, Mo.; and one brother, Doug Claxton, Sr., of Phoenix, Ariz.

Ertel Funeral Home, 42 N. Marker S., Cortez, Colo., is in charge of arrangements.
