Mary Ann Swingholm, 83, of Blair, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

A prayer service was held Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, and funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 15, at the family plot at the Blair Cemetery. Mary Ann Swingholm was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Wolbach to John and Christine (Knudsen) Swingholm. The family moved to Blair in 1929. She graduated from Blair High School in 1940, and was employed at an Omaha hospital until she joined the WACS in 1942. After being discharged in 1945, she returned to Blair and lived with her parents. She had many hobbies, including needlework, jig saw puzzles, and reading.

She is survived by her sisters, Kathryn Bauer, Darlene Gardner, and brother, John Swingholm, all of Blair; sisters, Dorothy Brooks of Columbia, Mo., Ruby Clements of Simi Valley, Calif., Patsy Blinn of Sun City West, Ariz., and Peggy Ray of Norfolk.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard, and sister, Lola Hamke.
