Obituary #3 5 Mar., 1903 - The Pilot - Sarah E. (Allen) Swihart

The death of Mrs. Wm. Swihart which occurred last Saturday, while not unexpected, was a shock to the many friends of the family, many of whom had known her since the fifties, she coming here with her parents in ’56 and settling in Calhoun. In 1867 she married Wm. Swihart and as a result of the marriage eight children have been born to them, six of whom, with their father, mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother who though an invalid for the past fifteen years has been a friend to everybody, more especially the sick, often rendering them assistance when her own condition was such that the assistance should have gone the other way. Three weeks before her death she was taken sick with pneumonia and this with other complications proved too much for her, and on the 60th anniversary of her birth the spirit returned to God who gave it. The funeral occurred Monday and the remains were laid to rest in the Kennard cemetery. The many friends of the family join The Pilot in extending sympathy in their deep bereavement.
