MRS. SARAH SWIHART DIES AT KENNARD

Many Attend Funeral Services conducted Tuesday Afternoon

Mrs. Sarah Swihart, 79, passed away at 3:00 am Sunday, February 28, 1932, at the home of her son, Thomas E. French, following an illness of seven weeks duration of heart trouble and other ailments of a serious nature. Throughout her illlness she has been cheery and always enjoyed the visits of her friends. Even when her sufferings were intense, she wore a smile for her nurses. Mrs. Swihart was born in Kentucky on September 22, 1852. She lived in Kentucky for some years after her marriage. On June 10, 1866, she was united in marriage to James R. French and to this union four children, three sons and one daughter was born, the sons surviving her as the late husband and daughter, Mrs. George Menking, passed away some years ago.

For twenty-eight years, they lived on a farm. Then in the fall of 1898 they came to Kennard which place has been her home ever since. After the death of her husbnd she lived alone for a few years before her marriage on January 18, 1904 to William E. Swihart who passed away a few years ago.

The death of Mrs. Sarah Swihart of Kennard occurred last Sunday morning after an illness of seven weeks.

The deceased was born in Kentucky on Sept. 21, 1852 and was married to James French in 1866. Following their marriage, they lived in Omaha and later on a farm near Kennard. Mr. French died in 1900.

In 1902 the deceased was married to William Swihart, whose death occurred seven years ago. She is survivied by three sons, Thomas French and George R. French of Kennard and Taylor French of Herman. Also three brothers, Will Meadows of Fremont, James of Omaha, and Thomas of Kansas. There survive twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Kennard and burial made in the Kennard Cemetery.
