John Swingholm, Sr., a resident of Blair for many years, died in an Omaha hospital Saturday, December 6th. He was 77 years of age.

The deceased was born July 19, 1892 at Omaha but had spent most of his life in the Blair area. He was a machine operator by trade but had been retired for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Christine, and by a son and eight daughters. He also has a brother and a sister who survive.

The son is John Swingholm, Jr. who resides in Omaha.

The daughters are: Mrs. Ed Rhoades (Katie) of Blair; Mrs. Lyle Bohs (Darlene) of Blair; Mrs. Harold Brooks (Dorothy) of Columbia, Mo.; Mrs. Evan Clements (Ruby) of California; Mrs. William Hamke (Lola) of California; Mrs. Robert Blinn (Patsy) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mrs. Robert Ray (Peggy) of Blair; and Mary Ann Swingholm of Blair.

The brother is Henry Swingholm of Bellevue, Nebraska and the sister is Mrs. Dorothy Rasmussen who lives in the state of Washington. There are 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Robert Albers conducting the service. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Grandsons of the deceased were pallbearers.
