KENNETH KING, 78

A prayer service was held August 28 in Missouri Valley at First Lutheran Church with funeral services on August 29 for Kenneth King, 78 of Blair who died Saturday, August 2i6, 1989 at his home. Rev. James Murray officiated. Interment was in the Little Sioux Cemetery.

Kenneth D. King was born October 19, 1920 to Frank and Belle Silsby King on the home farm near Mondamin. After graduating from Mondamin High School in 1929, he farmed the home farm until his retirement in 1981. He moved to Blair in 1981.

He married Winifred Voss February 25, 1939. They had been married 60 years.

Since his retirement he enjoyed golf, dancing, assisting with fall harvest on the farm and spending time with family and friends. He was a long time member of the Mondamin Kiwanis Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Cloyce, Dean and Lawrence; and one sister, Vera.

His is survived by his wife, Winifred of Blair; one son, Karol D. King and wife, Rozanne of Mondamin; one daughter, Karen Wilkinson and her husband, James of Marshalltown, Iowa; one sister, Helen Thompson of Clarinda; and two grandchildren, Mark K. Hammitt of San Francisco, California; and Alisha J. King of Mondamin. Many other relatives and friends also survive him.

Fouts Funeral Home of Woodbine was in charge of arrangements for the service.
