Services for Charles A. Sylvis, 74, who died Saturday, July 27, 1985, will be Tuesday, July 30, 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Steven Theiss will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Sylvis was born Feb. 5, 1911, the son of Charles and Mable Sylvis of Craig. He married Ethel Loudon April 1946, in Blair.

He was manager of Duffy's Food Market, where he worked for 23 years, and a veteran of World War II. Sylvis graduated from Blair High School. He was a member of the V.F.W.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel of Blair; two daughters, Mrs William (Cynthia) Brunz of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs Robert (Janice) Christensen of Decatur, Ill.; two brothers, William of Bozeman, Mont., and Robert of Blair; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Bill Williby, Loyal Drey, James Loudon, Bud Jensen, Edgar Short and Dennis Alterkuruse. Honorary pallbearers will be Art Lorsch, James Carson, Emil Klundt, Nial Viles, Ernie Andersen, Chic Madsen and Roy Duffy.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.
