Funeral services were held today at the Bendorf Funeral Home for John Alvis Sylvis who died Monday in an Omaha hospital. Mr. Sylvis was 66 years of age.

He was born here June 11th, 1894 and lived in Blair a number of years. On February 19, 1951, he married the former Lila Gustason of Blair and the couple has lived in Omaha since that time.

Mr. Sylvis is survived by his wife, Lela and by two sisters, Mrs. Laura King and Mrs. Mat Borcheording.

The Rev. George Palleson of First Lutheran Church, conducted the services and interment which followed in the Blair cemetery. Military services were held at the graveside.

Pall Bearers were Floyd Gustason, Earl Stiner, Frank Haffner, Ray and Gary Johnson all of Omaha and Floyd Smith, of Cozad, Nebraska.
