MRS. MABEL SYLVIS DIED AT HOSPITAL TUESDAY, JUNE 20

Mrs. Mabel Bracken Sylvis, a resident of 2270 Park Street for more than 40 years, died Tuesday at Memorial Community Hospital. She was 88 years of age. She was the daughter of the late William and Sara Bracken, early-day residents of Blair. The home in which Mrs. Sylvis has lived was the home of her parents. She was born in Blair.

As a young woman she taught school for a time and then married, after which she and her husband engaged in farming in the Craig, Nebraska area.

She is survived by four sons; Charles, Robert, and Aubert Sylvis, all of Blair, and by William Sylvis of Bozeman, Montana. A sister, Miss Helen Bracken, who lives in Omaha and a niece, Mrs. Helen Maynard, also of Omaha, are also survivors.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p..m. at the Campbell Mortuary with the Rev. Charles Nenow of Trinity Lutheran Church conducting the service. Burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ray Johnson, Robert Christensen, William Brunz, Harley Rennerfelt, Kevin Sylvis and Keith Sylvis.
