Aged Resident Dies in Omaha

Mrs. Esther Kingdon Lived at Kennard Many Years

Mrs. Esther Kingdon, 74, passed away Saturday morning at the home of her son, D.E. Kingdon, in Omaha. She had suffered a stroke last Tuesday from which she did not rally although all that human hands could do was done for her. For more than three years she had been a wheel chair invalid after suffering a stroke while living at Kennard next door to her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holland, and from that time on she has been practically helpless but always patient and cheerful during her invalidism.

As a young woman Mrs. Kingdon had lived with a Mrs. Pemberton near the Whitford school for a long time and in the early 90’s she and her family moved to Kennard where she had resided continuously until her illness began three years ago when she went to live with her daughter.

She was a member of the Methodist church and for many years a member of the ladies aid society at that place.

She is survived by ten children, four sons, W. E. Kingdon; Chas, J.; Alfred M., Decatur, and Delbert E. of Omaha; six daughters, Mrs. William Durand, Albion; Mrs. William Johnson, Flagler, Colo. Mrs. Joseph Morrison, Herman; Mrs. Frank Holland, Kennard; Mrs. O.J. Barnett and Mrs. Thos. Boyle, of Omaha; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and scores of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Kennard Methodist church at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, Rev, Carl Bader of Blair, officiating, interment being made at the Morley cemetery west of Kennard.
