Ruth Evelyn Kirk, aged 2 ½ years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kirk, died Wednesday of last week of pneumonia. Ruth was a very sweet little child, who by her winning ways had endeared herself to relatives, friends and neighbors alike. The funeral was held Friday from the L.D.S. Chapel, and was conducted by Elder Huburt Case, pastor of the L. D.S. Church of Omaha. Misses Cora Stricklett and Vanola Brunton and Messrs. F.W. Arndt and Don C. VanDeusen sang three beautiful hymns, one especially appropriate being “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Four little girls, members of the junior class of the L.D.S. Sunday School, acted as pall bearers, and the little white casket was completely covered with the beautiful floral tributes sent. The little one was laid to rest in the Carter family lot, mourned by all who knew and loved the little one in the short time she was permitted to be with her parents in their earthly home.
