WILFRED ARNDT DIED AT BLAIR HOSPITAL SATURDAY

OPERATED ONE OF BLAIR’S OLDEST BUSINESSES

Wilfred B. (Biff) Arndt died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair last Saturday, November 11th. He was 85 years of age.

Mr. Arndt is the son of the late F.W. Arndt, pioneer business man who founded the well known Arndt Hardware which Wilfred B. was operating. The Arndt Hardware is possibly one of Blair’s oldest businesses.

The deceased was born at Blair, April 12, 1885 and had lived here most of his life. A widower, he had been making his home with his son, Harry Arndt, at 877 North 25th Avenue.

He is survived by the son, Harry Arndt, who has been working with his father, Wilfred B., in the operation of the store. A daughter, Mrs. Josephine Bunting, resides in Omaha. There are two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair with the Rev. Robert Bee conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Rudy Fick, George Good, Louis Murdoch, Bernard Lundt, Wilbur Lowe and Alfred O. Sick.
