ARTHUR C. ARNOLD DIED HERE TUESDAY

Arthur C. Arnold, a resident of Blair and vicinity for the past 60 years, died Tuesday at the Leptein Nursing Home in Blair. He had been in poor health for many months.

Mr. Arnold was born near Springfield, Illinois on March 31, 1874 and was, therefore, 86 years of age at the time of his death.

In 1963 he moved with his parents to Peru, Nebraska where he attended the state Normal School. For the past 60 years of his life he has lived and worked around Blair, most of this time spent in farming.

On January 3, 1899 he was united in marriage to Grace Hatcher. To this union three children were born: Leonard who preceded his father in death; Florence, now Mrs. Florence Atkins of Los Angeles, California; and Clarence Arnold of Blair. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Arthur Arnold was baptized about 40 years ago in the First Christian Church of Blair.

Memorial services are being held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Campbell Mortuary of Blair. Gail B. Dunning, Minister of the First Christian Church of Blair, brought the Memorial message. Mrs. Neil Sutton provided sacred music: “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Pallbearers are Warren Wakefield, Clarkson Husk, Richard Barron, Lynn Armstrong, Mace Warrick and Hjalmer Quist. Interment to be in Blair Cemetery.

His actual death date was not listed.
